CLAIRE, PART SIX

That evening, after Andy had left her, Claire had decided what she had to do. She was busy all the next  day at work, planning the big project, but just before quitting time, she made her way to Andy's office.  She sat down in the chair next to his desk.

Andy looked up, and smiled at her. "Hello, Claire. It's always nice to see you. To what do I owe this unexpected visit? Coffee time?"

"Oh, maybe later. Right now, I was just wondering if any of the women in the office have been 'hitting on you,' recently."

He put down his pen, and turned a little more toward her. "If that's why you're here, you would be the first in some time. Is that why you're here?"

"I think so. I'm just wondering if you think any differently about me than you did when I first got to the office."

He seemed to think about that. "Well, you're definitely not mean. Of course, I never really thought you were, even though that seemed to be the consensus among the men in the office.."

"I guess that's something. How about your other concerns, the ones of a more physical nature?"

More thinking. "I think I recall the 'concerns' you are alluding to. The first was about making love in bed, wasn't it?  I don't think we know each other well enough yet to really make a decision on that."

"Well, you said 'yet.' I take that to mean that you have been considering it, at least superficially."

"I think we'd be safe to say that much. Now, what was the other part?"

"It was having fun in bed, with love if possible, but optional. What do you think about that?"

"That requires a little different set of criteria, doesn't it? Let's see. Well, I've already said that you aren't mean, so that's not an issue. You're very lovely to look at - not a requirement for having fun in bed, but we male chauvinists may consider that a nice bonus. Now, from a careful pursual of your form, and from  watching you walk - always a decided pleasure, by the way - it seems to me that you are probably quite limber - a definite plus. What else? You have a very good sense of humor, and your little laugh almost sends me into Space - in a very good way, I might add. Putting all that together..."

"Wait, there's one other possible consideration. Girls are often told that men wouldn't be interested in us if we're not virgins on our wedding night. However, I have also heard it said that some men can waive the virginity requirement if a bit of 'experience' makes fun in bed more likely. If a girl didn't have any 'experience' - I mean, would that affect a decision?"

"Well, it could certainly be a consideration. However, I suspect that a young woman with a willing heart and the right demeanor - in close contact at the proper moment - could achieve 'experience' rather quickly. It's certainly something to think about. And I am - thinking about it, I mean"

"That's good, because I've been thinking  about it for some time."

   "You have? Seriously?"

   "Very seriously."

He seemed to be weighting that information. "So, what I'm hearing is that it might be a good idea for me to hurry up with my thinking."

"I think that would be a very good idea.
